Westonaria families receive keys to new homes

The Westonaria Borwa Mega Project brought moments of joy and relief as families finally stepped into newly built homes, marking a major step in improving housing delivery in the area.

A significant milestone in the drive to provide dignified housing was reached as MEC for Human Settlements, Tasneem Motara, officially handed over newly built homes to qualifying beneficiaries in Westonaria as part of the Westonaria Borwa Mega Project.

The handover ceremony, attended by government officials, community members and proud new homeowners, marked a moment of hope and progress for families who have long awaited adequate housing.

Speaking at the event, Motara reaffirmed the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements’ commitment to accelerating service delivery and restoring dignity to residents through access to proper housing.

Beneficiaries Brenda Bodibe and Vusi Magoba expressed joy and gratitude as they received the keys to their new homes, describing the moment as life-changing. For many, the houses represent not only shelter, but also stability and a renewed sense of belonging.
