162 Westonaria families receive keys to new homes

A major housing development brings infrastructure and long-term economic growth opportunities to Gauteng residents.

More than 160 qualifying beneficiaries received keys to their new homes during a handover ceremony at the Westonaria Borwa Mega Project on September 25.

Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements Tasneem Motara officially handed over the houses as part of the province’s ongoing efforts to provide much-needed housing opportunities to residents.

The handover marks another milestone in the development, with work continuing across the broader Westonaria Borwa project.

Schools, healthcare and parks planned

The MEC said the vision for Westonaria Borwa extends beyond the construction of houses, with the development also planned to include schools, healthcare facilities, parks and transport infrastructure.

Spaces for business and industry are also included in the long-term plans, creating opportunities for economic activity alongside residential development.

The development is intended to bring homes, essential services and economic opportunities together as the community continues to grow.
