From internal auditor and principal social worker to senior psychologist and registered counsellor, SAPS might have a vacancy just for you!

The South African Police Service (SAPS) offers careers in various fields.

If you join the police service, you can either become a police official or a civilian employee. Police officials are employed in terms of the South African Police Service Act 68 of 1995.

Civilian employees are employed in terms of the Public Service Act 103 of 1994. Most functional police officials are directly involved in preventing, combating or investigating crime. The other police officials and civilian personnel carry out support functions.

The police would also wishes to alert the public of the existence of bogus advertisements purporting to be from the SAPS recruiting interested persons to apply for police traineeships and other vacancies within the police on a website for example www.jobfeed.co.za using the SAPS logo.

Police said in a statement it wishes to state that advertisements for any posts within its structures are, if and when they become available, placed in a range of newspapers in the country to reach as many potential and suitable candidates as possible. The public should also bear in mind that they can view existing vacancies and obtain the official application forms from the official SAPS website www.saps.gov.za. Only the information that is on this website can be regarded as authentic.

Members of the public are urged and advised to be vigilant and not to be misled by any false advertisements or advertising scams, and to report these activities to the police.
