Mohlakeng’s Velaphi an international music star

Velaphi Ngqaqu said he has previously performed for former USA President Bill Clinton when he was in the country a few years ago.

Mohlakeng’s very own Velaphi Ngqaqu, famously known as V.live, is a big deal in the entertainment industry and recently collaborated with the music group, Encore.

Having performed for international audiences, Ngqaqu prides himself in his music – singing soul music. He was also part of a South African Music Awards nominated group called Seed in the Soil.

Speaking to the Randfontein Herald in an interview, Ngqaqu said that he also knows his way around the guitar and is also a harmonica player.

His love for music started back in high school and has since never looked back. He was also part of a church group growing up which was also instrumental in his career.

He said that he is busy in the studio, cooking up good music that will move crowds.

“I’m currently busy in the studio and I’m going to release my single titled, African, soon. I think it’s very important to have such a song, especially for the black community. It’s a song that will serve as an inspiration and reminder for black people to wake up and do better with their lives. It will also remind them that they too are kings and queens in their own right and that the world is their oyster,” said Ngqaqu.

The 42-year-old added that he previously showcased his talent at the Moyo Restaurant at Zoolake in Johannesburg, an opportunity that he said opened massive doors for him.

According to him, it is this opportunity that led him to being booked to perform for former USA President Bill Clinton, when he was in the country a few years ago.

This sensational singer added that he has also been to Switzerland and in other places overseas and has also performed at the World Economic Forum.

He is currently a musician at Manhattan Hotel in Pretoria from 18:00 to 22:00 every Friday, where he serenades the crowd with his voice.

Having released his album called Impumelelo in 2010, Ngqaqu has been gracing different stages throughout the country and has also been traveling abroad, to showcase his talent

He has been to places like Madagascar and Bulgaria East and has collaborated with Encore on a song titled Lerato.
