Kameel Street Vet helps Rufus with surgery

Kameel Street Animal Hospital helped Animal Aid Warriors to get Rufus back on four paws.

Animal Aid Warriors want to give thanks to Kameel Street Animal Hospital for helping them save Rufus’ life.

Founder and director of Animal Aid Warriors, Naomi de Beer, was particularly worried about Rufus the dog. She claimed that she found 10-year-old Rufus in a terrible state when she was giving food to the animals whose owners could not afford to feed them. The boerboel mix breed was found with severe cancer in his private parts along with a tumour that was hanging out of his rear end.

De Beer further stated that both of Rufus’ owners are unemployed and therefore she took it upon herself to find medical assistance.

She decided to take Rufus to the animal hospital where Dr Leandri Klopper removed the tumour free of charge.

De Beer stated that she has been visiting the animal hospital for more than a year, adding that Dr Klopper is always willing to help.

“It is such a blessing to have a vet who always jumps in no matter what the occasion is. She makes space for the animals even though it is not an emergency. She has a pure passion for animals and I think that is what makes her good at being a vet,” De Beer said.

She added that it is not unusual for the vet to see her once a day with an animal beside her.

Klopper stated that it feels great to help animals in need.

“This is what I studied for and it feels good to work with people who want to make a change,” Klopper concluded.
