Women gather in dialogue to celebrate themselves

The Thandeka Knowledge Hub hosted its second annual Women in Dialogue event to celebrate women.

The Thandeka Knowledge Hub hosted its second annual Women in Dialogue event at Greenfield Lifestyle Estate in Greenhills to celebrate women.

The theme of the recent event was ‘Women celebrate thyself’.

According to the founder Thandeka Legae, the theme meant not celebrating who you were, are or will be, but rather accepting and encouraging yourself.

“The day was empowering and educational. It was a great celebration done by women for women,” Thandeka expressed.

She further explained the event worked as a safe place where women conversed about topics that affected them. While some women shared life experiences, other women gave life advice.

The speakers of the event include Thato Seopa-Magadlela, Nana Kesimolotse, Felicia Mlandu, Tsakani Mpofu, Lungi Ndou, Sister Elizabeth, Radebe and Fundi Ndaba.

Bongii Kortes also performed as a vocalist while Katlego Tati played a few tunes on the guitar.

“The day was a display of women celebrating and supporting each other. The aim was for women to also embrace the concept of buying local, supporting local and promoting local. I will forever be grateful to everyone who played a role in the success of this event. It was an emotional dialogue,” Thandeka concluded.
