Community asked to help find missing Dexter

Residents are looking for their family dog that was last seen at Bootha Plotte.

Dexter, a Labrador and boerboel cross is missing and the family needs the community’s help to find him.

Megan Shaw, Dexter’s owner, explained he went missing on February 3 with his basset buddy Rufus.

She noted they had trouble with their gate motor that opened by itself and when they went outside they noticed both dogs were gone. Rufus has since been found at Bootha Plotte, but they are still searching for Dexter.

“Dexter was last seen at the same place with Rufus before they were separated by children that chased them with sticks,” said Shaw. She added Dexter is friendly but a bit scared.

“We raised Dexter ourselves and got him when he was six days old in 2020. His mother had passed away and the people couldn’t keep the dogs. We fed him with a bottle so he is very close to our hearts,” stated Shaw.
