According to the founder, Louisa Rossouw, they received a call from a concerned resident about two kittens who were in bad condition.

When Cast Aways arrived to pick the kittens up in the Homelake area, they noticed that both were suffering from the flu and an eye infection. They also noted that the kittens were severely underfed.

Consequently, the kittens were taken to a nearby veterinarian hospital where they were treated with antibiotics and eye ointment. They concluded that the kittens were between six and seven weeks old.

The cats and kittens who come into our care will always have a special place in our hearts. These two kittens recovered beautifully, and they have been melting our hearts from day one,” Louisa expressed.

The kittens will be ready to find their forever homes within two weeks after receiving their feline aids and leukemia tests. They will also be microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed at eight weeks old.

Furthermore, Louisa advised the community.

“If you see stray cats and you also feed them, it is your responsibility to sterilise them. There are plenty of organisations that offer sterilisation for a good price,” she concluded.
