Animal Aid Warriors is now appealing to the community to help the owner pay off the bill. The 12-year-old Boxer’s owner contacted Animal Aid Warriors for assistance with Diesel. The owner noted Diesel had a strange lump under his throat.
An hour before Animal Aid Warriors reached Diesel, the lump burst. When Diesel was taken to a local veterinarian hospital, the vet confirmed it was an abscess. He was then treated and sent home. Diesel is gaining health steadily at home, however, its operation cost R800.
Director of Animal Aid Warriors Naomi de Beer is now asking for the community’s help.
“We currently have 34 dogs and 19 cats with fosters. Maintaining the costs of these animals is just too much since we have to provide care and treatment. It is also important that people microchip their pets.
If residents are unsure their pets’ microchip is registered, they can also contact us,” Naomi said.
