René stated that in the event of a missing pet, the first step is to contact your nearest SPCA.
“We ask for as much information as possible, such as what kind of animal it is, how old they are and so forth. We then keep that information in case something comes in.
It is also always better to go to the SPCA and look for yourself, if possible. Then still call in regularly if you don’t find the animal,” said René.
She continued, it is also important to contact or visit all the vets in the area, as well as the other rescue organisations. Also, keep in contact with them.
It could also help to put photos of the animal on CPF groups and social media platforms.
“The more information you get out there, the better. We highly recommend microchipping your pets so that if they go missing, they can be scanned and your details can be quickly retrieved. This can be done at any vet,” concluded René.
