WATCH: New sound, big dreams: Double Impact eyes stardom
Nine artists from Mohlakeng hope to share their personal stories and showcase their unique music on radio stations.
Music group Double Impact Studio is preparing to become a local hit as they focus on bringing their unique sounds to those who love music.
The group consists of nine artists, namely Amogelang Tshoketsi (Sagemode), Tebogo Mokgosi (TclasssiqRSA), Onkabetse Tshoketsi (X Hubby), Siyabonga Zwane (King Toss), Tebogo Pitso (GhostRSA), Alex Marupeng (Lex), Kelly Phokompe (Kelly.P), Mabotlhale Sethunyane (Mabo) and Keneilwe Systerfontein (Prixii).
The journey of Double Impact began after the artists’ desire to create unique sounds.
According to Onkabetse, they started freestyling in the streets when the nine artists met each other. After performing together, the artists noticed they could generate special sounds and thus, the group was born. They have been actively performing for two years.
The group drew inspiration from various renowned artists such as T Man Express, Nasty C and Cassper Nyovest. They now specialise in hip-hop and Amapiano by fusing energetic beats, memorable melodies and relatable lyrics. Their music touches on social topics like justice, equality and personal empowerment.
Through their journey, the group has come face-to-face with many challenges. The competition from other artists, self-doubt and the struggle to stand out in the industry were some of the challenges they managed to overcome.
“Our motivation to keep doing what we love comes from our passion and the immense desire to create something new and innovative,” expressed Onkabetse.
Double Impact plans to release unforgettable music, tour the world and collaborate with leading artists to share their innovative music.
