A desperate bark for help: No More Tears temporarily shuts its doors

No More Tears Animal Rescue has temporarily shut its doors to new intakes and faces full closure without urgent community support.

Due to declining finances, No More Tears Animal Rescue has temporarily shut its doors and is unable to take in any new animals, prompting an urgent appeal for community support.

No More Tears volunteer Clarisse Kruger shared the news with a heavy heart.

“Not because we want to, and not because we have given up, but because we are completely in dire straits and fundraising has taken a halt. This is the heartbreaking reality,” Kruger stated.

“We have tried everything from raffles and markets to sales. However, it is barely enough to cover the basics like deworming and vaccinations. Our incredible vet, Dr Johan Naude, has even walked to raise funds. Sadly, only one person has pledged so far,” she continued.

Unless the organisation receives financial help, it may not survive this challenge and will be forced to close its doors permanently.

Kruger added that the organisation is currently R50 000 in debt, which they owe to boarding kennels, the Randfontein Animal Hospital and the Rant-en-Dal Animal Hospital.

“We are one of the few animal organisations that choose to help the needy animals and underprivileged families. If we close, it is the animals that will suffer. We don’t want to give up, and we believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel. But as of right now, we are on the brink,” she said.

Any donations can be made directly to the Randfontein Animal Hospital. If anyone wants to get in contact with the veterinarian, call 011 412 1010. For more information, send an email to info@nomoretears.org.za or call 079 499 4439.
