Motorcycles ready, Santa hats on!

The West Rand Biking Association is planning to do their annual Santa Run to make Christmas a little more special for the underprivileged children.

The annual Santa Run is set to make Christmas more festive for less fortunate children, and the West Rand Biking Association (WRBA) is inviting the community to join them.

According to event organiser JP du Toit, this initiative was started by the WRBA in 2010 to raise awareness about the struggles of less fortunate children. The fun run also serves as a fundraiser to make the festive period more enjoyable for needy children.

“During last year’s event, the fun run attracted 300 participants, and we hope this year will see even greater participation,” JP said.

The event takes place from 09:00 on November *9, starting at a roadhouse in Krugersdorp and ending at a bar and grill along the N14 in Sterkfontein, where live entertainment will follow.

“We encourage all participants to fully embrace the festive spirit by creatively decorating themselves and their motorcycles,” JP said.

JP noted that all interested individuals are welcome to join the run in support of the cause. Funds raised will be used to purchase toys and necessities for underprivileged children in the West Rand.

“It makes a tangible difference by providing joy, dignity, and essential support to the children. The biggest challenge and driving force for this initiative is the scale of need in our community. The sheer scale of need makes it challenging to assist all applications effectively. Our goal remains to assist as many families and children as possible through this combined effort, despite the complexity,” he added.
