SPCA appeals for information after harrowing dog rescue

The RandWest SPCA is appealing for information after rescuing a bound dog found dumped in a ditch near the R28.

The RandWest SPCA has launched an urgent appeal for information after rescuing a dog found dumped in a ditch with all four of her legs bound.

SPCA manager René van Straten explained, “The sweet girl was found with all four legs tightly tied with wire and thrown into a ditch near the R28, close to Mohlakeng.”

Because of how she was trapped, four people were needed to safely lift her out.

“Thanks to their quick and compassionate teamwork, this brave girl is now safely in our kennels, where she’ll finally have a soft bed, warm food, gentle hands, and lots of love – with free paws at last. A heartfelt thank you to volunteer Nadine Jacobs and the rest of our dedicated team for responding without hesitation,” René said.

Anyone with information on how the dog ended up in this situation is urged to contact the SPCA on 011 412 3114, WhatsApp 078 911 0538, or email inspectors@spcarandwest.co.za. Information may be provided anonymously.
