Municipality promotes road safety
Over the festive season, the Municipal Public Safety Department ran a road safety campaign to educate road users and promote safer driving.
Rand West City Local Municipality’s Public Safety Department conducted a major road safety campaign on the R28 over the festive season.
Mayor William Matsheke and Public Safety MMC Dudu Mbulula, along with other council officials, joined the campaign and handed out pamphlets to motorists along the route.

“Through this campaign, we wanted to send the message to drivers to take care over the festive season and avoid unnecessary accidents,” said Rand West City Municipal Public Safety Chief Tebogo Malefo.
The campaign was carried out in partnership with the Gauteng Wardens. The day also marked the introduction of a new Traffic Wardens Unit, which, according to Malefo, will enforce city by-laws.
