Kardia House keeps learners active with fitness competition

Kardia House International held its fourth fitness competition to encourage fitness among youth.

Kardia House International recently hosted its fourth fitness competition where primary and high school learners had the opportunity to show off their endurance skills.

According to deputy principal Joy Kruger, learners participated in exercises such as push presses, kettlebell swings, deadlifts, push-ups, and burpees.

“Functional Fitness is a sport which can be done without any equipment. It also improves the connection between the brain and the body which will develop a person in any other sport as well,” Joy said.

Joy added that fitness has also been implemented into the school’s curriculum. Laurence Kruger coaches grades R to six every Friday while grades seven to 11 receive training every Tuesday and Thursday.

“It was the most successful fitness competition we have ever had,” Joy concluded.
