As a tax-paying, law-abiding citizen of Randfontein I am deeply distressed after having to spend most of the past weekend in the dark.
What do we pay the municipality for?
There are more power failures, more crime, more bad roads, more fi lth strewn on sidewalks and in public places and more pollution than ever before, yet we pay through our noses and are hardly able to keep up with municipal costs.
Surely we as taxpayers should have the right to demand the services that we pay for?
Everything has become so expensive that leading a quality way of life is becoming impossible even if you earn a descent salary.
For most of Saturday and Sunday we were unable to do anything that we normally do to keep ourselves busy, meaning we had to go out and spend money on food and entertainment.
