Sight for sore eyes
It is a crying shame that the Riebeeck Lake has been neglected in this way.
• William Kriel from Randfontein writes:
What is happening at Riebeeck Lake? This piece of land used to be a landmark in our town but now it is only sore eye.
I remember as a child my parents and I used to go to the lake to have a Sunday walk and picnic.
My parents used to love to go there and stroll around and I would have loved to share this experience with my children but it is just not on the cards.
I would like to know what the Municipality is going to do with this area as it is in a horrible condition and as far as I know it is their responsibility to clean the place up.
We as elderly residents of Randfontein would love to visit the lake to enjoy our Sunday walks but due to the state the lake is in, we are forced to walk in the streets of Randfontein and now we have to face dangers such as being hit by a car or being robbed.
It is a crying shame that the Riebeeck Lake has been neglected in this way.
Please make an effort of cleaning the place up and restoring it to its former glory.
