Actions have implications
If you ask me, residents are taking it too far and someone needs to talk some sense into them.
Concerned Westonaria resident writes:
Rumour has it that a bomb was planted outside the municipal offices over the weekend of 29 September.
I know that people are angry about the lack of service delivery in the area and I am one of them.
However, this does not mean that people can act like hooligans and burn down buildings or attempt to do so.
It is not right and it is completely uncalled for.
Not so long ago residents of Bekkersdal took the liberty to torch the Bekkersdal municipal offices and now they plant a bomb outside the Westonaria municipal offices. What’s next? It is evident that some people are willing to kill for petty issues at the end of the day.
If you ask me, residents are taking it too far and someone needs to talk some sense into them.
Do the perpetrators realise that people could have died should that bomb have exploded?
And I want to ask those responsible this one question: if the building had burnt down, how is the municipality expected to render service delivery in the area without a work place?
People really fail to think beyond their reasoning abilities and realise that such actions have serious implications.
Stick to rioting in the streets but do not destroy the very same properties you will need at the end of the day.
