Time to fix our town
When you phone to report problems, the Municipality always replies with the 'we have no money' excuse.
• DA Councillor Roy Harrison writes:
Dear madam mayor.
With reference to my letter published in the Randfontein Herald on 14 January (to which I have had no response to my question), I think that it is only fair to the tax payers of Randfontein that you should supply them with an answer.
The state of Randfontein is an utter disgrace and we as tax payers have the right to know what our hard earned money that we pay for Rates and Taxes is being spent on.
When you phone to report problems, the Municipality always replies with the ‘we have no money’ excuse.
There are many more problems that the tax payers have, but there is just no response from the higher elected members of the Randfontein Municipality that can satisfy the public.
The employees of the Randfontein Local Municipality have to take all the abuse from the public which is, in my eyes, it not right they are just working for the municipality and you as the Elected First Lady of the town should have the guts to stand up and answer the public.
The Public have had enough and are going to form a committee if they do not get an answer from you to take this serious matter to higher authorities so that they can take control of Randfontein.
