Political parties born out of anger will not survive governance

Only in 20 years, our people are free to reside in any area of their choice and have free education from primary to tertiary level.

• Mohlakeng resident and West Rand District Spokesperson Dennis Mangope writes in his personal capacity:

Please allow me to clarify certain aspects about an anonymous letter published in the Herald on 28 February 2014.

First and foremost the letter comes from a coward who is afraid to be known.

The writer of this letter knows very well that what he/she claims on the article is a misrepresentation of the truth.

I suspect that the writer stays in a free RDP house, benefits from indigent policy and drinks subsidized water from the municipality.

Let me remind the writer of hundreds of thousands of many other services that he/she benefits from because of the ANC Government.

Let us not be fooled by angry statements from a few people who are still angry at the ANC government because they themselves do not see the good performance of this government.

Only in 20 years, our people are free to reside in any area of their choice and have free education from primary to tertiary level.

We also have a free and quality health system that has been part of the government’s priorities.

Let me remind you that our grandparents used to earn R350 as pension, which was even paid after three months at Ramosa Hall and in other areas of the West Rand.

Today the ANC has also done away with rental houses and transferred government houses to the people by offering them title deeds.

How do you then compare the ANC Government with the Apartheid government?

Today you can criticize and even engage a in violent protest action, destroying community facilities in an attempt to advance your narrow selfish interests at the expense of genuine community concerns.

This government has created peaceful and engaging processes of public participation and petitions.

You have a democratic right to petition your municipality on any matter you feel is not properly attended to, and not to destroy your own facilities which should develop our own communities.

It is unfortunate for the writer to say what he/she said in the last paragraph of the article.

I can assure all South Africans that the ANC will not disappoint you.

The strategic objectives and the Manifesto of the ANC remains the peoples’ contract.

Nothing will be done outside what the Manifesto is saying and like any other party in government, some processes might take long to implement but we are going forward.

Vote for the ANC to better the lives of our people.

Political parties born out of anger will not survive governance.
