During my term as a councilor, the people knew that I was there for them in every way despite their age, race and income.
I become involved in trying to sort out the problems of Dick Powell Villas when it came to residents wanting to receive title deeds and fought in council against the corruption that was taking place there.
The units were originally mean t for the people that were disabled, poor or on pension and could not afford their own accommodation.
There was a long list of over 400 people who had been waiting for the units for many years.
These people were struggling to make ends meet and were at the council’s mercy.
Their struggles became mine and I tried to help them resolve the situation especially when the council decided to change the rent and refused to give people their title deeds as promised earlier.
