Municipality insults residents
The municipality continues to insult its residents by only cleaning the town when an important guest comes to visit or when the Randfontein Show is on.

The local municipality continues to insult its residents – the ones who pay their salaries – by only cleaning the town when an important guest comes to visit or when the Randfontein Show is on.
The municipality will ignore constant requests and pleas to cut the grass, trim the overhanging branches, pick up the rubbish, paint the roads and keep the town in a reasonable state year after year, and the age-old excuse is “there is no money”.
But all of a sudden the Gauteng Premier comes for a visit and we must show him and all the VIPs how wonderfully clean our town is, how good it looks – false advertising if you think about it.
They should have given more thought to the merger with Westonaria, but politics is a dirty game and they knew they were weakening on the political front.
So let’s play politics and screw over the residents – again – the ones who pay the bills so we don’t lose power.
Power to do what? Squander the rate-payers’ money, drive fancy cars and have four managers to fill one post and maybe, just maybe, one of the managers will do the work while the others simply have meetings and draw fat salaries.
Year after year we just take these insults and the municipality continues to fail the residents of this town. Enough is enough!!
