The Rand West City Local Municipality is taking people for granted.

We have been paying for water and garbage collection all these years and the amount we have been paying has never been this high.

When you go and ask them why the amount you have to pay is this high, they do not really give you the reason, they just tell you to pay.

I fail to understand why I should pay R4 951,69 for water and garbage collection while I buy my own electricity, and I also get indigent support.

Last month, I paid R400, but they say I owe R4 951,69! How, I do not know.

I know that I paid after the due date, but that does not give them the right to tell me that I owe that huge amount of money and not give me a valid reason.
