During the month of August, Fish-on Angling shop will celebrate their first birthday and to celebrate this special day, they will promote Bass Angling as a sport by sponsoring a bass angling competition.

According to the owner of Fish-on Angling Shop, Cidney Roos, the bass angling competition will take place at Hobby Park in Noordheuwel on 3 August.

The competition will kick off at 8am and will continue until 6pm. Cidney adds that it is an open angling competition and anyone is welcome to enter the event.

“Bass angling is a very entertaining sport and it is my mission to promote and create awareness about bass angling among the youth. It is a great honour for me to be part of this competition and a great way to celebrate Fish-on’s first year as a local angling shop,” says Cidney.

He adds that the entrance fee for the competition is R50 per adult and R25 for children under 12-years.

Cidney has been participating in angling as a sport for the past 14-years and explains that it is very important to promote this sport among the youth. Therefore, he opens his doors to any aspiring anglers for good advise and help in constructing a fishing kit.

“I love fishing and will help gladly upcoming anglers to get the right gear and know-how of the sport. By doing this we can instill a love for fishing among our youth,” says Cidney.
