Kara recently received the good news that she will be heading to the U19 Telkom Netball Championships in Cape Town from July 8 to 15. She was among 37 girls selected during trials held recently at the Randfontein Sports Complex in Mohlakeng and aims to make her community proud.

She is a former Hoërskool Bastion learner having matriculated last year and has been a member of the Bastion Netball Club (not associated with the school). Within just a year, she has developed to be among the very best in her age group.

I am extremely proud of her and how she has progressed. Kara is a very passionate, loyal, and disciplined player, she always puts 100% in everything she does. I hope and believe that she will accomplish her goals in the future,” said Kara’s mother, Lorraine.

It is clear that Kara is talented and has put in the work to get to this level. Like all team sports, she will need help to reach her goals as the trip to championships will be costly. So she is asking for a helping hand so can represent her community in raising funds for the championships. To assist Kara be sure to contact her mother Lorraine Botha on 060 767 5176. She will highly appreciate her community in assisting her with her sporting ambitions.

Kara is training with her coach Marilize Coetsee on the court.
