Speed and skill at the Oval

Motorsport lovers were treated to some edge-of-the-seat action during the Randfontein Oval Raceway's Winter Challenge.

The Randfontein Oval Raceway recently hosted its thrilling Winter Challenge where multiple clubs showed off their racing skills.

Racers could participate in different categories and according to Randfontein Oval Raceway’s Marilize Coetzee, they received about 70 entries.

“It was a successful day,” Marilize said.

In the Kiddies category, Ryan van der Westhuizen managed to secure first place while Ryan Oberholzer won first place in the Quads category. In the Ladies’ category, Anache Lange achieved first place, and Beebee Rothman first place in the Rookies category.

Altaaf Tayob was the winner in the 2100s with Brendan James taking first place in the Quads Open category. The Hotrods Category winner is Allen Cunningham. Pieter Lange managed to end the race in first place during the 1660s category and Albert van der Westhuizen first in the Flexis category.

Sean Conrad took first place in the 2-Wheelers Garage Builds category and Louis Muller was the winner in the 2-Wheelers Pit Bikes category. Finally, Leeroy Hoffman took gold in the Stockrods category.

The raceway will be hosting its next race on August 3.
