Myburgh Foundation forms football club to help struggling youth

To help the youth of Toekomsrus escape the chains of social ills, the Myburgh Foundation formed the Simnandi Football Club.

As part of their youth development programme, the Myburgh Foundation established a new football club in Toekomsrus to help assist more than 16 boys.

The idea of creating this club resonated with the founder of the foundation, Randy Christian, when the youth approached him and notified him that there was a lack of recreational facilities within the community. Randy eagerly started the football club to help the boys. The new football team falls under the foundation’s management and is named Simnandi Football Club.

“We are committed to helping the boys receive the right resources to help them escape the social ills in our community. This includes substance abuse and gang-related activities. We will use their passion for sport to make sure they do not slip through the cracks of society,” Randy expressed.

The club’s goal is to build self-esteem and mutual respect.

The foundation hosted the inaugural meeting on July 8 to set up a team and structure for the club.

Anyone who is willing to help the foundation with this cause can contact them on 062 591 2268.
