Eagles Wrestling coach Willie Steenkamp earned his Protea colours after years of dedication and leadership on the mat.

During the prestigious Protea Wrestling Capping, Willie was awarded Protea colours, celebrating both his personal achievements and the progress of the athletes he has guided.

Willie first joined Eagles Wrestling in 2020 and has since led the team as head coach with dedication and discipline. His passion for the sport grew, and this year he showcased his wrestling skills after winning four gold medals at the South African National Wrestling Championships.

“His commitment to developing young wrestlers into confident and competitive athletes has earned him deep respect from peers, parents and competitors alike,” Maryke Groenewald from Eagles Wrestling said.

According to the wrestling club, receiving Protea colours is considered a high honour which signifies contribution on a national level.
