Foundation empowers youth through sport

Modimo O Teng Foundation teams up with the community for their fourth annual Street Tournament.

The Modimo O Teng Foundation hosted its fourth annual Street Tournament in Randfontein recently, aiming to uplift youth and raise awareness for the ‘boy child’.

Founder and director Kopano Hosene explained that while the tournament showcased community spirit and talent, its core mission was to provide mentorship, discipline and a sense of belonging to young men, guiding them toward a productive future.

Young learners competed in soccer, and the foundation plans to include more sports in future tournaments.

An awards ceremony recognised merit while addressing the needs of children in the area. Winners and participants received school shoes, medals and trophies to reward teamwork and sportsmanship.

“In a time when youth face many social challenges, the foundation continues to use sports as a tool for social change and education,” said Kopano.
