Shack fire leaves Moyikwa family with nothing
A mother of four is left devastated after her shack burns down.
Nondumiso Moyikwa (54) and mother of four is left without a home after their shack burnt down in Mohlakeng.
The family is now desperately in need of help.
The mother stated the fire occurred early in the morning on January 6. Even though she is unaware of what the cause was, she stated the impact of losing her home is devastating.

“I have lost everything. I have lost two fridges, our bed, all of our clothing and many more. I also lost all of my personal documents including my ID. I could not even register my child for Grade One because I lost the documents in a fire. We do not have a home anymore,” she expressed.
Although Moyikwa has contacted the government on various occasions, she has not received any support as yet. Therefore, she is appealing to the community for help.

“I am a mother of four without work. I need clothing for my children and help to renew my documents. I am so stressed,” she said.

The owner of Ebuhleni Home Based Care Project Nzimeni Funeka has since tried to help Moyikwa. Funeka has also bought school clothes for her four children. However, he has asked that the community please help the family in any way they can.
If anyone can contribute, contact Moyikwa on 073 361 4496 or Funeka on 072 811 6714.
