Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanga said the house was being auctioned off because the city did not need the excess “which represents a corrupt ANC administration”.
Mayoral spokesperson Samkelo Mgobozi said it took R12 million to renovate the house.
“I think the work that was done does not amount to the milllions that were spent. It is our hope that the house will sell so we can get on with providing services with the proceeds,” said Mgobozi.
