Accident leaves man angry

A motorcyclist not only crashed into a vehicle but also provided the driver with false contact details after the accident.

A young man from the north of Pretoria had a double stroke of bad luck last week when a motorcyclist not only crashed into his vehicle but also provided him with false contact details after the accident.

Renier Pieterse (24) said he was driving down Sefako Makgatho Drive last Thursday at around 17:00 when the accident happened near Dr Swanepoel Drive. “I was busy turning into Dr Swanepoel Drive. The traffic light was orange when I turned and there was a lot of traffic. I made sure that it was safe to turn, but before I noticed any danger, a blue Pulsar motorcycle crashed into my Volkswagen Golf,” Pieterse said.

The young driver of the motorcycle, who introduced himself as Chris, then got up and allegedly started pleading with Pieterse not to phone the police. “He said he had no licence and the motorcycle had no number plate either. He also said that he would rather give me his contact details and pay for the damage himself,” Pieterse said. Pieterse had to leave the scene soon after the accident happened, seeing as he had to drop off his passengers. He left with the motorcyclist’s details in hand only to find out later that all the information was false.

“There were many people who witnessed the accident and I’m hoping that someone will be able to provide me with more information as to where I can find the motorcyclist,” Pieterse added.
