Two teenage girls who have been kidnapped from the Eersterust area on Thursday, are finally home.
According to Constable Sam Shibambo, spokesperson for the Eersterust police, four men allegedly abducted the two girls, aged 14 and 17, in Eersterust before taking them to an apartment in Rietfontein.
“The girls managed to contact their family members to inform them of their whereabouts. The family immediately informed the Eersterust and Moot police on their location,” Shibambo said.
He said that all four suspects, who are in their early twenties, have been arrested on charged of kidnapping.
One suspect was arrested at the apartment where the girls were detained and the other three on route to Eersterust.
“Both girls have been taken to a hospital where are receiving trauma counselling,” Shibambo said.
