Community members of Brazzaville, Atteridgeville West found the body of their dead neighbour on Sunday after a horrible smell was lingering in the air.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Thomas Mufamadi the body of a man was reaching decomposition by the time it was found in a pit toilet.
“The body was found in a pit toilet covered in blankets. The neighbour of the dead man started noticing a rancid smell and called a friend to help him trace the smell, and that is when the body was found. ”
He said that the police was called to the scene to investigate and remove the body.
A case of murder has been opened.
“We are still unsure of what had happened but we are investigating the case.” said Mufamadi.
Attempts to get hold of the neighbour who found the body were futile at the time of going to print.
