Two arrested for stolen property

The police arrested two suspects for theft in Knopieslaagte recently after receiving a tip-off from the police.

Two suspects facing charges of possession of stolen property are due to appear in court soon, the police said on Thursday.

This occurred after the owner of a construction business in Knopieslaagte reported the matter to the police.

According to the police, the complainant called the Erasmia police station at 23:00 after he discovered that one of his roller machines was missing from his business premises. Police spokesperson, Constable Tumisang Moloto, said the police, who were patrolling at that time, were then sent to meet the complainant.

Moloto explained that when some of the employees were questioned about the events, they informed the police about two men whom they suspected in the area.

Through the lead, Moloto said the police managed to arrest the two suspects, aged between 29 and 35, who were found in possession of the roller machine. Investigations are underway.
