Traditional healer found dead

Police are searching for suspects after an unidentified woman was found dead just outside Mamelodi on Friday morning, police said.

Police are appealing to the community for information after a 35-year-old woman was found dead on Friday morning on the Dynespoort Gravel Road just outside Mamelodi, the police told Rekord.

The decomposed woman was found by a passer-by who was looking for wood along the road. “Evidence on the scene translates to a murder, as it appears she was strangled. It seems as if the woman was a traditional healer, as she wore the relevant accessories and attire,” said the police spokesperson, Johannes Japhta.

The police are calling on the community to assist them in identifying the woman. “She was wearing a black top, a light-blue skirt with small white stripes, black sandals, and a traditional waist cloth. She had short black braids,” Japhta explained.

Police are investigating a case of murder. “We are looking for people with information about her disappearance. Anyone who can assist can contact Captain Tselana on 082-822-7014 or Warrant Officer Maseko on 082-969-7667,” said Japhta.
