Two suspects have been arrested for being in possession of the drug CAT, the police said on Saturday.
According to a statement released by the Wierdabrug CPF Sector 3, the arrest occurred during an operation with the Wierdabrug police when two suspected drug dealers were arrested at the KFC in Wierda Park.
According to the chairperson of the CPF Sector 3, Hannes du Buisson, the arrest came after information was received with regard to the selling of drugs to school children.
“The car of the dealer, which was seen frequenting the area, was spotted by community police members when it entered the KFC in Wierda Park,” he said.
The police were informed and the CPF sector manager, Warrant Officer Nkatametse Mabilo, rushed to the scene. Du Buisson further said the vehicle was searched and that four ‘baggies’ of what appeared to be the drug CAT were found in the car. Several community and police members participated in the operation. The police were not immediately available for comment.
