A R100 000 reward will be given to anyone with concrete information that will help the police in finding the remaining eight stolen vehicles from Auto Superb in Clubview. According to the owner of the car dealership, who asked to remain anonymous out of fear of being targeted by the suspects, nine vehicles were stolen on 25 January. A guard was held at gunpoint at around 23:45 and windows were broken.
“The suspects gained entry into the office through a window, took the CCTV, broke the safe and the main door of the office, searched for all the keys and fled with some money and nine motor vehicles. I have lost so much money. If I don’t find those vehicles, I will have lost about R2,5m. My business has been in operation for four years and this is the first robbery. One of the vehicles was recently found, not far from the Wierdabrug police station. I just hope that someone will come forward with concrete information about the remaining eight vehicles.”
The police spokesperson, Captain Agnus Huma, confirmed the incident and explained that the suspects removed the hard drive of the CCTV camera before driving away with the nine motor vehicles. She said a case of business robbery had been opened for investigation and that the recovered vehicle was found on Old Johannesburg Road at around 03:00 by Monitor Net.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with more information can contact the investigating officer, detective/constable Fuzile Matwa, on 084-532-5896. The vehicles that are missing are: a 2012 Toyota Prado, two Toyota Hiluxes (2011 and 2008 models), two 2011 Toyota Fortuners, a 2007 BMW X5, a 2011 VW Polo and a 2009 VW Golf.
