The man accused of brutally attacking a 73-year-old woman on Sunday morning in Rooihuiskraal is still at large, police said on Wednesday.
According to police spokesperson, Ilze Jones, the woman is in a stable condition in the hospital.
“The woman still sedated and on ventilation, but her wounds are looking better. She is still in ICU though.”
The woman was attacked at her home where she resided alone around 02:00 the morning.
According to Jones a man used forced entry to gain access to her home through the living room’s window.
She was allegedly attacked with a sharp object.
Jones said the police have made no arrest yet.
The family of the elderly women did not want to comment.
