The video footage of murder accused Oscar Pistorius re-enacting the night he shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was legally obtained, Australia’s Channel 7 reportedly said in a statement.
The footage which was broadcasted on Sunday evening in Australia shows Pistorius without his prosthetic legs with his right arm held out as if clutching a gun.
Later in the video Pistorius can be seen struggling as he drags his sister Aimee Pistorius from a toilet, similar to the one in his home.
It was produced by The Evidence Room, a US company that creates forensic animations from re-enactments for use in court, and appears to have been commissioned by the defence as part of its preparation for the trial.
While Pistorius’s lawyers reportedly said that the footage had been obtained illegally the executive producer of Sunday Night, Mark Llewellyn reportedly said in a statement: “We would not have run the footage if we thought we had obtained it illegally.”
