Victim apprehends hijacker

Two hijackers are expected to appear in court after one of them was apprehended by their victim.

Two men are expected to appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court this week when their victim apprehended one of them after they hijacked his car, police spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said.

On 20 September, a man and his friend were instructed to lie on the ground after they were hijacked by four armed men.

“They drove off with his vehicle. On Tuesday, the victim noticed one of his hijackers at a tavern and apprehended him. He was brought to Loate police station,” Moremi said.

The second hijacker was arrested on Tuesday after police were tipped off by the initial hijacker.

“Police arrested the other suspect at his residence after the arrested suspect pointed him out,” Moremi said.

Moremi said two armed men are still at large.
