Three men wanted for armed robbery in Soshanguve
"As the security guard was busy loading money from the safe, he was held at gunpoint by two armed men who stormed in."
Police in Soshanguve are searching for three men who allegedly robbed a KFC-restaurant in Soshanguve on Monday.
“The incident happened around 10am on Monday morning when G4S cash-in-transit security went to collect cash at KFC in Soshanguve Plaza,” said police spokesman Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena.
He said one crew member of G4S security went inside KFC to collect cash.
“As the crew member was busy loading money from the safe, he was approached by two armed men who stormed in and held him at gunpoint.”
Mangena said the men were armed with 9mm pistols.
He said the men ordered the G4S security man to hand over the bags of money.
“A third man, also armed and believed to be an accomplice of the two robbers, stormed into the office and demanded that the security guard hurry up.”
Mangena said a greyish BMW was seen parked next to the KFC entrance, and when the three men left the restaurant, they sped off in the car.
“No arrests have been made and we appeal to residents to help us track down these men,” said Mangena.
He said an undisclosed amount of money was stolen and no arrests were made.
If anyone has information that could lead to the arrest of the three men, they must alert the nearest police station.
