5 200kg dagga confiscated

Man arrested for the possession of 5 200kg of dagga in the west of Pretoria.


The Tshwane metro police arrested a man for possession of 5 200kg dagga at his home in Booysens in the west of Pretoria.

According to Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba, spokesperson for the metro police, the metro police received a tip-off in the early hours of Saturday morning about a suspicious vehicle driving around in Pretoria-West.

“The metro officers followed the 39-year-old man from Pretoria-West to his home in Booysens. They searched the man and found dagga in his possession,” he said.

When the police searched the man’s house they found 5 200kg of dagga and heroine.

The man was arrested and is currently being detained at the Hercules police station on the charge of the possession of drugs.

He is expected to appear in court soon.
