Dumped baby found alive

A four day old baby was found dumped in a black plastic bag in Soshanguve over the weekend, police said on Monday.

Constable Hlekani Mathebula said a security officer found the baby alive at Aubrey Matlala road.

“The baby was found in a plastic bag, and inside the plastic bag was a note written “Lesego born 2014/10/02″, the baby was taken to a nearby clinic”.

Mathebula said the baby is now at a place of safety.

“We appeal to women to give their babies up for adoption instead of putting them in a plastic bag and dumping them.”

She said baby Lesego was fortunate to have survived the heat in a plastic bag.
