Water tankers deployed in Centurion

Tshwane metro has deployed water tankers to parts of Centurion where residents have been without water since Wednesday.

The City of Tshwane metro has deployed water tankers in Centurion after various areas were without water since Wednesday morning, following burst water pipes.

Water tankers will be doing rounds at the following areas:

· Amberfield Crest Estate (Fouriesburg Street)

· Entrance of Wierda Glen Estate on Theuns van Niekerk and Rooihuiskraal Road

Two water pipes burst on Wednesday, affecting Valhalla, Rooihuiskraal, Wierda Park and Amberfields.

Ward 66 Councillor Ina Strydom said a water pipe initially burst on Wednesday morning in Valhalla and was attended to that night. However, it burst again on Thursday morning.

According to Marietha Aucamp, Ward 67 Councillor, other areas were affected shortly after another water pipe burst in Wierda Glen.

Tshwane metro said water in Valhalla will be restored on Thursday afternoon while supply to other areas is expected to return by 17:00.
