Hoërskool Garsfontein’s mountain biking team dominated the SportsMax school summer series with podium winners in almost all the categories. Even the parents participated with enthusiasm in the open, also known as “oupa”, category.
Olympian cross country cyclist, Philip Buys, presented Garsies with the SportsMax School Summer series trophy and R5 000 prize money from SportsMax.
SportsMax school summer series is organised especially for mountain bikers aged 10-18 years. The first series took place over three consecutive weekends in October at Derdepoort Recreation Resort.
