Raw sewage streaming down the sides of houses in a Theresapark complex has been giving residents sleepless nights for the past week. The smell is unbearable and the sewage is a health risk and constant concern, said resident Chrissie van Dyk.
She said raw sewage had been streaming out of the pipes since last Tuesday.
People in the Theresaburg complex have been plagued by problems of this nature since June. Van Dyk said the Tshwane metro gave attention to the problem on Monday for the first time.
“I am despondent and exasperated. The smell is unbearable and making our living conditions impossible. The toilet’s water has also been rising and it seems like the water could overflow at any given moment,” she said.
“The Tshwane metro arrived yesterday for the first time since June to take a look at the problem but who knows how long it will be before this starts again.”
No comment was received from the Tshwane metro at the time of publication.
