Power was restored on Wednesday to some parts of central Pretoria after an outage due to cable theft, the Tshwane metro said.
The supply cables were taken from a Queen Street sub-station.
“Our technicians managed to restore electricity to some parts of the central business district. Power should be fully restored before the end of the day,” said the metro in a statement.
The metro urged the public to switch off non-essential electrical equipment to help reduce demand.
