Hostage situation at Capital Park home

Police are at a home in Capital Park where it is believed an unknown number of people are held hostage.

An unknown number of people are being held hostage at a home in Capital Park on Tuesday morning.

Around 09:00, police, Life Med Ambulance, MonAmi Trauma Troops, and the community policing forum were called onto the scene at the corners of 6th Avenue and Van Heerden Street.

According to a source, four shots were fired earlier, however, the situation is currently calm as police monitor the situation. Three hostage negotiators are also on the scene.

The street has been closed.
